Data Recovery Over a Network
This is the standard way to use Recover My Files over a network to recover and save files:"RMF" = Recover My Files
"PC1-Deleted" = PC which contains the deleted files
"PC2-Good" = Good PC with RMF installed
- Download and install "RMF" to "PC2-Good".
- Share on "PC2-Good" the folder into which "RMF" has been installed (the default folder is C:Program Files/Recover My Files).
- Go to "PC1-Deleted" and navigate to the shared folder on "PC2-Good" so that you can see the "RMF" program (RecoverMyFiles.exe). MAP the folder to give it a drive letter on PC1-Deleted (in WinXP, from within Windows Explorer select TOOLS/MAP NETWORK DRIVE).
- Run "RMF" on "PC1-Deleted" by executing from "PC1-Deleted" the RecoverMyFiles.exe in the shared folder.
- Save the files that you find back across the network into the shared folder on "PC2-Good".
