Why Use Intellimover and the Intellimover File Transfer Cable?

Method	IntelliMover is Better Because
Transfer files using floppies, CD's, Zips, USB drives, etc.	User must find all their files individually and reconfigure their settings and preferences manually. This is very time consuming and it is easy to miss things.
Windows XP File & Settings Transfer Wizard	- Designed for someone with more technical skills. - In many cases requires complex networking configuration. - Only supports Microsoft applications. - Does not support cross-version program migrations.
Other Products: e.g. Aloha Bob's PC Relocator and pc2pc	- No cross-version migration means that if you are upgrading to new software your settings get left behind. - Minimal selections means that you might migrate files that you don't want to move. - Charge extra for a cable, up to $40 for just the USB cable.
Internet Services: e.g. SkyClone	- Pay based on how much data you need to transfer = expensive. - Most users do not have broadband access and without it, migration times are extremely long.

• Transport requirements- both machines must meet transport choice requirements

Supported Applications

• IntelliMover will automatically find and transfer all your customizations, settings and preferences for most popular applications.
  
  
• Unfortunately IntelliMover cannot transfer your actual software applications because of software copyright laws and possible hardware incompatibilities between computers. Your software applications will need to be installed on your new computer from their original install CDs. After installation, IntelliMover can selectively set the software settings to match that of the old PC. This limitation is not unique to IntelliMover and is a limiting factor for all file transfer products.
