How to Encrypt and Decrypt Files with MySecurityVault PRO
MySecurityVault PRO can protect your important files and folders in the same way as banks and corporations. Encryption is the process of encoding information in such a way that only the person with the correct password can decode it. By using encryption, you ensure that no one else can use your files without your permission.
The “Encrypted File List” in MySecurityVault PRO contains a list of files and folders you would like to protect. Once a file is on the list, it is simple to encrypt and decrypt (with your vault password). The following instructions will show you how to encrypt and decrypt your files.
Encrypt a File
When a file or folder is added to the list, it is automatically encrypted. Follow these 3 simple steps to encrypt a file.Step 1. Open Vault
Start MySecurityVault PRO and open your Vault.
Step 2. Select Category
Click on the “Categories” drop down menu and select “Encrypted Files”.
Step 3. Encrypt Files
There are two ways to encrypt a file:A. Encrypt by Drag and Drop
Click and drag files from your desktop (or other location) onto the left pane of the MySecurityVault PRO window.
This encrypts the file and adds it to the Encrypted File List as
seen below.
B. Encrypt using Add Button
Another way to encrypt a file is to click the “Add File” button and a browser window will appear.
Select any file and click the “Open” button to encrypt it.
Decrypt a File
When a file or folder is added to the list, it is automatically encrypted. When you need to open the file or folder there are two ways to decrypt.A. Decrypt using Mouse Double-Click
When a file is encrypted with MySecurityVault PRO the icon will look like the one below. Double click on the file icon to decrypt the file; you will be prompted to enter your password. After entering your password your file will be decrypted.B. Decrypt using Decrypt Button
Inside the “Encrypted File List” you can select the encrypted file that you would like to open, and then click the “Decrypt” button. The file will then be available for use.
